No Phone Service

My SIM card and SIM only contract is fully set up but I'm still unable to make/receive calls or texts, or connect to the internet without relying on WiFi. My old phone number was successfully ported over two days ago. I've been restarting my phone periodically to try and fix this but the service only becomes available momentarily. (4G and 5G appear in the top corner with one or two white bars, then disappear and turn four dots as though there's no SIM inside the device.) Today, I got in touch with customer support who restarted the network from their end, but this only fixed the issue temporarily. I've checked the mobile coverage in my area and it shows as "Excellent coverage" both indoors and outdoors.

At first I thought I may have missed a crucial step when installing my SIM, but apparently it's all good to go. Can anyone please offer me another suggestion as to what may be causing this issue and how it may be fixed?

Do you know any other EE users locally, and are they experiencing similar problems?

This is likely to either be a SIM/account-specific issue, or a local network outage. The "check status" option on the webtool (you've likely used "check coverage") is a good first check of the latter.
