Hello, I can't receive authentication codes from Portugal Gov, and seems like other phone services are okay, any help regarding this?

There's been some recent posts reporting issues with receiving SMS from foreign senders, the issue could equally lie with the sender.
You should report this to EE CS in the first instance, but if the issue is caused by EE's anti-spam platform, it will need resolving by the sender with relevant advice.

Thank you, No help from customer service since I can't even report it via phone call directly as I'm always sent to a machine which will tell me everything is working just fine. I have no idea how to deactivate the anti-spam platform, is there any way to do this? My partner uses another provider in the UK and there is no problem with this Portuguese Government service.

I'm guessing you're choosing one of the automated options on 150, choose an alternative option to avoid that.

I would recommend reaching out to our technical team on 150 who will run through some diagnostic checks with you on your account and phone and if the issue remains they can escalate the issue to our level 2 technical team who can check on your incoming texts to see if these texts are actually arriving at the EE network.

fast forward to May 2026 and I am having the same issues with being unable to receive authentication codes on my mobile from Portuguese Gov services - seems a known issue - was at the Consulate in London yesterday and had this issue - tried again today at home and same issue - talked to EE and got some success using gov.pt but other Portuguese government sites no joy - any help would be appreciated

It was long ago but I had to change providers to get it working as no one was able to help me at the time and it's an important tool from time to time to get this OTPs from my homeland government.
This isn't probably what you guys looking for but for me that was the only solution after a few hours on the phone trying to get help.

Hi João - thank you for your advice - I am coming to the same conclusion - its a real problem and EE isn't interested - its for my Portuguese wife who needs to authenticate herself with Seguranca Social - just one question - what network did you change to that works (for you) that allows you to receive authentication codes from Portuguese Government sites ?
