My number is being spoofed

AidenLaw

Hello

I think someone is using my number to contact people.

I keep getting calls from random numbers. They said my number called them but I did not even call anyone.

Is anyone having the same issue?

Hello @AidenLaw

Welcome to the community.

There can only be one active SIM for your number at one time.

Are the calls coming from random mobile numbers?

Katie

Hello Katie

Yes, I got 3 random mobile calls since last 2 weeks.

When I answered it, they asked who I am and said I had called them before and that's why they called me.

but I am sure I did not call anyone.

Thanks for getting back to me @AidenLaw.

Is this a number you have had for some time?

Katie

No, I have had this number for all the time. I am the only one using it.

Thanks.

Hi. Yes this is happening to me too. Twice now in 2 days. Is there anything to be done which doesn’t involve changing your number?

Hi @JB1911

Welcome to the community.

I'm sorry to hear that this is happening to you. Hopefully this stops happening soon, if it doesn't, the only thing our customer service team can do is change your number.

I am also seeing this issue. I cannot see what the spoofers are getting out of this?

But twice now in the last 3 days I have been called saying my number called someone that I absolutely did not.

EE: its all very well saying that all you can do is change our number but:

(a) this could happen to any number, right?
(b) changing number is a MONUMENTAL pain

So - what industry trends are being tracked to stop number spoofing? How does it work? Surely my number is tied to my Sim Card?

Hi @Si_Fi,

Welcome to the EE Community. 🙂

I'm sorry to hear you've been a victim of number spoofing. In my experience, these cases only last a short time before they move on to a different number.
