Jibe RCS spam

Hi 

i keep receiving text messages from JibeRCS with messenger verification codes I have not requested. 

Each time I delete the message and block the number but they keep coming and are clearly spam. 

How do I stop this ?

What if you have an iPhone, never needed/used anything that requires JibeRCS and have been receiving codes for over a year?

I’ve muted the texts so I get no notifications from the codes coming through but I can’t block it so they stop?

Welcome to the EE Community, @frejamair 🙂

This would indicate that your number has previously been used with RCS on a compatible phone and the server is continuing to try and verify your number.

To stop receiving the texts, you would need to switch on your old Android phone and turn off 'chat features' in the messaging settings.

It feels as though this would be unlikely as I haven’t had an Android phone in 10 years and not with the number I currently use either.

That's unusual, @frejamair. I'm not aware of any other circumstances that would trigger the attempted verification.

Do you have access to an Android device you could use to de-register your number?

I don’t at all, everyone in my house is on iPhones.

All I know is I’m getting fed up of receiving the text messages from it’s no way of stopping them
