Hi,
Could someone from EE please clarify once and for all regarding roaming charges to Ireland? I don't know why they make this so confusing. I'm fairly new to EE and one of the deciding factors was enabling free data/texts/calls when in Ireland. I live in Northern Ireland and visit family who live down close to the boarder, so often the network would flip to a mast in Ireland and thus, I could potentially be charged £2 each day this happens, even if I don't actually cross the border. The roaming costs section on the EE website clearly states that it's £2 per day. I'm pretty sure this must have changed, because it wasn't like that before. https://ee.co.uk/help/help-new/roaming-costs/countries/ireland
Finally, at the end of August 2022, I was down visiting my family members near Newry (close to the border) and sure enough, I was connected to an Ireland mast. I then received the below text message.
Hi from EE. While you're in Ireland you can use your plan minutes, texts and data allowances at no extra cost.
Calls to countries outside the EU (not including the UK) are £1.35 per min and texts 56p each. Other charges are the same as when you're in the UK.
For the best network coverage your handset must automatically select a network. To do this, choose your phone from: http://ee.co.uk/help/phones-and-device next select 'Connectivity' then 'Selecting Network'
This is what I expected to happen, but the fact that the roaming information on your website states that it costs £2 a day is concerning and confusing. I do not want to be locked into a 2 year contract where EE have decided to change these terms mid-contract. I'm hoping it's just a mistake on your website and it needs to be updated with the correct information. Thank you.

@sevensamurai22 : The RoI Roaming Charges page is wrong about calls & text from there. See Charges for roaming in the EU :
Calls, texts and data within the Republic of Ireland are included within your allowance. If you use up your allowance, the £2 daily charge will apply.
Furthermore Ireland is not included in the full list of countries affected by the EU roaming charges above.

@sevensamurai22 You’ll not be charged to use your phone in Ireland.
