Insurance Provided Handset to be Blacklisted

Synopta
Explorer

A handset associated with our group account was replaced by a third party insurer in 2021. The handset has now been lost and the insurer requires proof that EE have blacklisted the handset.

In discussion with a Customer Services rep, EE can only blacklist handsets which they themselves have supplied. This suggests an impasse as I can't complete the claim as I can't prove the handset is blacklisted??

Is there a way around this, can EE blacklist the handset if I have the IMEI and proof (from the insurance company) this it was supplied to me?

@Synopta   You’ve been told wrong EE can block any device even from 3rd parties.

To contact EE Customer Services dial 150 From your EE mobile or 0800 956 6000 from any other phone.

Thanks Chris, do I just call Customer Services?

Guess they want to see the proof letter from the insurers?
