Hello, I've been in Lisbon about an hour, but not got a message about the service, can't make calls or use roaming, etc. Only WiFi in the place where I'm staying. Mobile and data roaming are on.
Any ideas, please?

Have you tried manually searching for a network? Did you activate roaming before you left the UK?

No I didn't know I had to activate roaming before I left.
No e e networks are available. I tried Vodafone, but no luck.

It sounds like you need to activate roaming, @eeeeeeeee. The only way to do this is by speaking with our Mobile Care team. You can find our contact information, including a number to call from another phone, on our contact us page.

Are you able to call from someone else's phone, @eeeeeeeee. I know of other users in a similar situation contacting our Mobile Care team through VoIP services, such as Skype.

Try calling CS on the Freephone no. in my sig. on Skype over WiFi. It should be free.
