WiFi-calling is a coverage enhancement tool, designed that you can use your phone for calls & texts regardless of mobile coverage. Those calls & texts still use EE's central network for routing, and calls will seamlessly swap between the mobile network & WiFi as necessary.
Using your phone is therefore charged in exactly the same way as using the mobile network, it's not a means to avoid call charges.

Hi @AlanMrfixit
Wifi calling is not free it comes out of any call allowances. Wifi calls via certain apps such as WhatsApp will be free albeit will use your data if connected to the network and not wifi. If connected to wifi WhatsApp calls would be free.
Thanks

WiFI Calling is a routing strategy when mobile signal is weak or non-existent. It is not a cost-saver. Costs are the same whether your calls & texts are carried by WiFi or over the mobile network.
