I have paid for roaming add on and my phone is not working

Have yo tried restarting your phone and manually connecting to a different available network?

In addition to the billing add-on, did you also enable international roaming before leaving the UK? This is normally done by texting ROAMING to 150 before travelling.

Without this, your phone won't be able to connect to foreign networks and will cause the symptoms you describe.
