How far in advance do I purchase the roaming add-on?

How long before I travel should I buy the £15 roaming pass to use my phone in the USA? Also, is it valid a month from purchase or will I need to renew it while I’m out there as my regular bill will be generated while I’m there? Thanks

@Casw   Purchase it a day before you fly and you’ll need to cancel it’ll when your are back in the UK.     It’ll automatically renew until you cancel it.  

Don’t forget to text ROAMING to 150 so roaming is enabled on your account, purchasing add ons doesn’t enable roaming,     Having roaming enabled means you can connect to a roaming network and the add on allows you to use your allowances when abroad     Do this now as it doesn’t hurt having this enabled and it’ll not cost you anything.

The Roam Abroad Pass is charged £15 per billing month from the billing month you order it (text ROAMING PASS to 150) to the billing month you cancel it (text STOP ROAMING PASS to 150).
