'Not registered on Network' error message received when trying to call some UK and Cypriot numbers whilst in Cyprus... Why?? What can I do?

Does your phone show signal bars of a local network in Cyprus?
Do you have the following 2 options enabled in your myEE online account/app..
1: International roaming
2: Call abroad & premium rate

Which zone of Cyprus are you in, Greek or Turkish?
Are you on contract or PAYG?

Hi, I am on the Greek side (south) of Cyprus. I have a contract. Can't even call EE. Is there no live chat?? Most importantly, I can not receive passcodes from my bank or from a Government website. Please help. Sorry but I thought I would get a response by email so haven't searched for one until now.

Yes, I have a good signal from local network.
International roaming may not be on but my EE messages say I can use as normal in Cyprus. I can't call. If International roaming is switched on, does that mean I will pay standard rates for calls as I should be able to use my usual package according to EE. Also, if that is the problem then why would it affect calls and texts to both countries. I have called these numbers before, successfully. I will check... Data roaming is off, as usual but can't find International roaming???

As it is part of EU, you may use your usual UK allowances there with up to 50 GB (contract) or 25 GB (PAYG) data per billing month if you have more. If on contract & your contract started after 07/07/2021 there'll be a £2 / day charge for using your UK allowances in EU or you may buy the Roam Abroad Pass for £10 / month.
As you are on contract, did you activate roaming on your EE a/c before you left UK by texting ROAMING to 150? Having a roaming add-on doesn't of itself activate roaming on your a/c.
Often just rebooting the phone is the simple remedy. Also try selecting a network manually rather than auto. Otherwise try logging into your MyEE account online & go to Menu > Account Settings > Parental and Data Controls > Roaming Abroad and also Call Abroad and Premium Rate. They will show as ticked if roaming and calling abroad is activated. If they are not ticked, can you activate these settings?
If you can't enable the Roaming Abroad and the Call Abroad & Premium Rate settings of your online MyEE, you will need to call CS. Try calling CS on the Freephone no. in my sig. via Skype over WiFi. It should be free.
