Please explain - very simply - for an old person, what I need to do to be able to use my phone in Hawaii, on a cruise ship with a wifi package across the Pacific, into New Zealand, Australia and then home via Singapore. Will the data roaming pass help?

@Sueskittle there are no add on for when aboard a ship. You’ll be connected to the maritime network when not using Wi-Fi.
you can purchase the roam further add on for when you are on land at Australia and New Zealand so you can use your tariff allowance while there.
you need to enable roaming by texting ROAMING to 150
please have a look at THIS

Hi @Sueskittle
This will be very expensive. What tariff do you have? Is it a smart plan?
Thanks

It's not just a data roaming pass but a pass for all roaming abroad incl. calls & texts. It will benefit you in Oz, NZ & Hawaii for a price of £11.40 pm but only if you are contract..
The Roam Abroad Pass is charged pro-rata from the day you order it (text ROAMING PASS to 150) to the day you cancel it (text STOP ROAMING PASS to 150). You do start by paying up to the next bill date. Then in the billing month you cancel it you will get a rebate for the days after you cancel.
When on cruise ship out of range of land & when not using WiFi you will need to pay the charges or buy roaming add-ons as set out in https://ee.co.uk/help/help-new/roaming-costs/countries/maritimeshipsferriesandcruises .
If you are on contract, remember to text ROAMING to 150 before you leave UK to ensure roaming is enabled on your account.

Also to add that WiFi is just a wireless connection between a mobile device such as phone, laptop or tablet, and broadband router.
If your ship has a WiFi network this has nothing to do with EE who are your UK network operator.
EE's only involvement will be to ensure your phone is enabled for "international roaming" which allows it to connect to mobile networks in foreign countries.
