Cant call local numbers in the US

I recently upgraded the SIm Max roaming package for a new one with more data. ON my last trip to the US I could access 4g data fine, I could call UK numbers fine, I could text US numbers fine, and receive texts, but if I tried to CALL a US number, e.g. +1 xxx-xxx-xxxx it didnt work. I tried several times, in different states, and I always had the 4g signal.

When I tried to make a call to the US, usually in the same city, it said "connecting" but I heard nothing and eventually the line went dead. If I watched the screen, then the 4g symbol in the top bar would disappear as though I had no network, and then it would drop the line.

The same phone worked lasta year in Miami as I definitely called people about trips. The only thing that has changed is my contract, but everythign else works, just not local calls to the US

My phone is a Moto G6.

Any ideas ?

Thanks
Shaun

You do have the Roam Further Pass on your new contract?

If you think I helped please feel free to hit the "Thumbs Up" button below.

I dont know what a "Roam further" pass is, but I have definitely have Roaming included in The US. Australia, EU etc..

Data works, calling the UK works, texts work, I thin even incoming calls work as I missed one from Uber, just calling OUT to US numbers doesnt work.

Maybe I'm using the wrong calling convention for the numbers ? I was using +1 - xxx-xxx-xxxx just like I use +44 xxxx-xxxxxx for the UK

Which US networks are you using, when this happens?

I have network selection on Auto, but I did notice that it was using T Mobile / EE at times. Every time I tried to call the 4g symbol would disappear and go to a blank "no signal" symbol, as though it had just lost all signal (or maybe changed network to something that didnt work ) then drop the line.  If I tried again it would then say "no network coverage" and I would have to turn mobile signal on and off again to get the 4g back.

Not in the US now, so I cant try anything.
