Can someone explain what to do when usage runs out and info about roaming?

if just moved over from GiffGaff as I wanted 5G where I live. But I'm really confused about things...

ee put me in a £6 a month plan. It's run out twice now quick. I want to upgrade right now, but I can see any option. I can see I could buy add one but that's not what I want. I want to upgrade and start a new plan now. In GiffGaff I'd just deject a new goody bag to start right away and it's all sorted.

next issue is... I'm going to Spain tomorrow but im

co fused bounding my phone abroad. I thought I'd just a 5Gb add on (because I read that's all you can use from your plan abroad anyway) but then I also see I might have to pay £25 for the privilege of using it abroad? That can't be right surely.

it's all so confusing compared to just not have issues before and everything just worked and you can change plan anytime.

thanks

Hi @lozcozard

What tariff are you on.

As for roaming read here, roaming is not free and you'll need to activate roaming on your account before you leave the UK ( text ROAMING to 150) and before you pay for any additional on assuming you are a pay monthly contract customer.

Thanks

30 day essential sim 5Gb £6. It says my contract ended 24th July. But my plan  will renew 18 August which is too far away.

I think I might try an eSIM. Doesn't seem right to me to pay for the privilege to use it abroad. For years I just go abroad and everything keeps working as it was and I don't need to do anything. All I ever do with gift gaff is if I use up all my data I can start a new one there and then. I can also change the plan if I want more data.

do am I right in saying I pay £25 to be able to use it abroad and I still need to add on a 5Gb data extra as I've run out? Perhaps a 7 day unlimited is the best at £26. So that's over £50! I never used to pay anywhere near that when I go abroad.

thanks

I notice under Active add Ons it already says £2.47 eu roaming per day. So does that mean when I go abroad they'll just start charging that to me, and I just need to buy a data add on to get data?

id rather just switch my plan as £6 one was never enough but there's no option to do that.

I've decided to try an eSIM from my old provider as I didn't have time to wait for a new physical one. £10 for 20Gb data which should work abroad I think no extra costs.  Then I think my EE phone number will work though I don't know. I'm porting my number back to my old provider too, it will take a couple of days, because I found ee a bit complicated to buy more data or more expensive than it would be if o could start my next plan earlier. So I "hope" the internet data will work and eventually my phone number goes back. Be an interesting excercise anyway and always wanted to try eSIM.

You could pay £2.47 / day instead of £25 / billing month. Depends on how long you'll be roaming in EU.
