Calls Over WiFi - Why is it so sporadic?

Last few weeks - sometimes not available for hours at a time. Never used to be like this.

 

I work from home and for whatever reason EE can offer me a quality mobile phone signal I am dependent on 'calls over WIFI' - always have been. (its nove even like I'm in a remote area - its a large town, housing estate)

Today - for whatever reason again - no option for calls over wifi

@brianotoole  Calls over Wi-Fi rely on a decent Wi-Fi signal from your router. It could possibly be that your broadband he’s having connection problems.. or just perhaps you might want to change the channel the router is using.   You’ll need to login to your router as an admin user to change the channel. If one of your neighbours is using the same channel as you this could be causing a problem for yourself and them. 

To contact EE Customer Services dial 150 From your EE mobile or 0800 956 6000 from any other phone.

I'm sat within a foot of the router. Broadband is rock solid - no issues there thankfully.

The 'wifi' calling sprang back up on the photo about 10 mins ago.

Just seems very sporadic these days - no matter of phone re-sets, dropping it onto 'airplane mode' and back again- or disableing and re-enabling 'calls over wifi' seems to help.

Its just sporadic lately.

@brianotoole  This is worth a try,  turn the router off at the wall for 30+ seconds and then switch it back on.

Tried that one too - didn't seem to have any effect at the time - 'wifi calling' was off for about another 30mins after the reset

 

But always worth a try as you say.

Are you able to use other internet-based functions over the same WiFi hotspot, when VoWiFi is problematic?

Same for me, Wifi calling has been off most of the day. 2 people trying to work from home

Sounds like a different issue.

Anyone else having problems with WiFi calling today?

Trying to work from home and rely on WiFi calling as not ee service in my area. Tried rebooting my router but hasn't helped. Can't contact ee support as no signal and their messaging service is unavailable
