Hi,
I have a PAYG SIM and am currently in the UAE.
I am able to receive calls that are made to my UK mobile number.
However, I’m unable to make calls locally within the UAE or internationally.
How do I configure my EE account to be able to both make calls locally within the UAE and back to the UK?

Thanks for coming to the community.
Roaming for pay as you go is already enabled.
Do you have credit on your account?
Have you made a chargeable action from your SIM in the UK before travelling abroad?

Thank you very much for the quick reply!
I can confirm that I have credit on my account.
Now, by chargeable action from my SIM in the UK before I travelled, I assume this would be a call or text not covered by my pack and does not include topping up the account? If so, then I think the answer is no as I have unlimited mins / texts on my pack.
Will this mean that I will be unable to make calls locally or internationally for now from the UAE?

No, a call or text included in your pack would count. Did you do that?
Have you tried manually connecting to a different available network provider out there?

Hi Chris,
I did have a “Text Message to Mobile” whilst in the UK plus I also tried connecting to both networks here in Abu Dhabi (Etisalat and DU). Additionally, I tried a couple of restarts of my iPhone.
That didn’t seem to make a difference unfortunately.
However, I’ve just tried again and am able to call both locally and internationally so all’s working!
