This is all just another excuse for an absolutely appalling service by EE. I was effectively forced into a move to EE from Plusnet because EE were touted as being the only option available to me.
I had three mobile contracts with Plusnet, My Wife, Son and my personal mobile; all working perfectly on Plusnet mobile for years. Having been told the service was ending and I would have to move to another provider, with EE being promoted as the recommended option, the move could not have been a more dreadful, appalling experience, with my son's phone simply stopping working completely on the day of the switchover, losing almost everything on it, all the phones subsequently failing to get signal for much of the time, and finding on many occasions calls to any of the numbers either do not go through, or we get a message such as the call could not be completed, or the mobile number you are calling can not accept your call, or any one of a myriad of similar messages. my business mobile, on O2, works all the time, and has continued to do so, but EE's coverage has been worse than diabolical. my son's phone is effectively useless now, he has lost so much and just can't be contacted almost all the time, and it's not just this area, it's when he's in Newcastle, Ashington, Bedlington, Consett, Durham, Northumberland, all over the Northeast, the service is worse than any I have ever experienced in over 30 years of having mobile phones, even worse than the early days back in the eighties. all this tripe about using WiFi calling is utter rubbish, as it assumes you've got access to a Wifi network, no use when outside, in which case how can EE claim such good coverage, unless they only measure service when indoors
I've never felt so forced into an appalling contract that promises so much yet delivers so little.

Your issues seem numerous, and different to that of the single site issue whose thread you'd added to.

A split service on the day of a number port is normal.

Sounds like your son's phone may have a fault, on the face of it. If there was a loss of service across this wide a geographical area, it would be generating significant volumes of complaints from EE users across the region - there's no evidence of this. The wider area that issues are seen over, the more likely the problem is to be device-related.

MNO's are in a no-win situation here. There will always be a small number of users who aren't aware of the WiFi-calling service and who are consequently off-service without needing to be - whenever there are indoor coverage issues.
Ensuring awareness of the service for these users inevitably upsets users who have outdoor issues - thus whichever route an operator takes, they are likely to attract criticism.

I can perfectly understand your defence of the company that employs you, but the sad truth is th efcat that all our phones worked perfectly for years whilst using Plusnet, yet from the point we were moved to EE things have been just awful; we would never have chosen to move away from Plusnet but our hand was forced by a corporate decision that we had no choice in avoiding. the simple fact is that this EE takeover has either not been tested properly, or checked and certified as providing the same service as before, or something has gone very badly wrong with the switchover to EE

I'm not employed by EE.

My apologies, it appeared to be an official answer 😞
