Hi, I have got an unlimited plan that includes free calls and data in USA. I recently had to make several calls to an American number and I have been charged an extra £40 for these calls... is there certain American numbers I cant call on my plan? It was a private medical hospital I phoned.
Thanks
Nathan

@Steelsy87 : You are not roaming when you are calling a non-UK no. from the UK. They count as International calls & are chargeable.
International calls & texts to overseas nos. from UK can be rather expensive but EE has a free add-on that anyone, on PAYG or contract, can apply for to give these calls & texts at a fraction of the standard rates. See The Free CALL ABROAD Add-on for Cheap Calls/Texts from UK .

@Steelsy87 There are no numbers you can call in the US when you’re in the UK as your not roaming when you’re in the UK and these are international calls.

Thanks for this. I just looked and a call to a US mobile cost me £3.91 for a 5 second call that went to answer phone. Would have been nice to know about this before hand!

Hi there - if I have been charged already for a call to the USA is there anyway of refunding and adding the addon to my account ? I’ve been charged £100 for a phone call.

@Jevoii no, that’s not possible as you’ve already ran up the charge so will we billed for that charge. You can’t add anything after the fact to have any cost reduced.

a week ago I swapped from BT to EE for all my broadband, landline, TV and 2 mobile sims. The mobile coverage is bad in my area and the landline crackles. I only changed because BT wouldn't let me have free anytime calls from my landline on my current contract. I changed so I could get the landline thru the modem with digital calling. What no-one told me, I only just found it in the small print is that I can't use my international calling card to call the USA from my UK landline and then found EE charge over £4 a minute to call the landline. I called the USA using my mobile phone and the international calling card, but as I say the mobile signal is so bad here it's not really the answer. Still looking for an alternative. Probably gonna try Lyca but will still have to leave home to find a decent signal.
