Apps Not Loading When Wifi Not Available

I recently transferred accounts for two Iphones from O2 to EE. On one phone apps load when out of the house and no Wifi available. On the other phone, apps load OK when able to access Wifi, but will not load when out of the house and Wifi is not available. I have cross checked the settings on the phones and they are the same. I have tried disabling VPNs, ensuring data roaming is on and have done a network reset but to no avail.  Can anyone help in resolving this problem?

Why? Are you abroad? If so, your nos. may not port while there.

@Guvnor_1947  What apps ?  If it’s any social media apps then it’s probably content lock that’s blocking this.  You need to call customer support with a credit card pay a refundable token to have content lock removed or you can go to a store with date photo ID to request content lock to be remove.

Chris. Main ones I have tried to use recently are Google Maps, MacDonalds, ICC and Utilita Apps. None of them will load properly. Yet the same apps on my wife's phone all load quite happily when not on Wifi.

I'm sorry to hear about the trouble you're having. Are you able to browse the internet when you're away from WiFi, and can you make calls?

HI Rach,

I gave it a try. I went to the end of my garden. Disabled Wifi. Tried three different apps. The front page loaded in all three but then nothing else. Called my wife on home phone and it worked fine.

Is your mobile data enabled? Have you restarted your phone?

I kept my fingers crossed as I hadn't restarted my phone for ages. Restarted but no difference. Yes data roaming enabled. Tried to load a route on Google Maps. Got the message "Cannot show revised route as cannot connect to the server".
