  • South Norwood SE25 has poor mobile phone coverage since 6th January 2025 I have been told by EE a local transmitter mast has been decommissioned and it could take 5 years or more to put up a new mast in this area this isn't good it's affecting other providers in the area not just EE nobody seems to know what's going on why is EE taking money from customers and delivering poor services why can't they install a temporary mast why did they decommisson a local phone mast leaving area with such poor quality signal and Croydon Council are being idiots rejecting a new phone mast in the area so South Norwood is in a very very bad condition

Nice copy & paste job regarding temporary sites! Some of that is accurate & relevant, but not all technically correct or relevant for this context.

The graphic about 12-18month timescale for new site builds is also very general - new sites can be built in less time, but they can take longer. There's just too many factors involved.

One of the more glaring errors with those temporary sites comments is the "multiple technologies" section. A "mast" is merely a structure used to host radio equipment and antennas. EE don't operate a 3G network, but the vast majority of sites have 2G & 4G equipment installed, with 5G increasingly common alongside.
