Re: Mast down for 10 weeks

The mast in my area (SA19 7NW, Mynydd Figyn mast) has now been down for 19 weeks. Is EE ever going to tell customers that it's not going to be fixed? I just want to know so I can make a decision.

Thank you.

For EE to tell customers that a network fault isn't going to be fixed, pre-judges that it is true - which I very much doubt.

19 weeks equates to 5months, which is very unusual but not impossible, depending on the nature of the issue. Only EE C/S can advise on any potential timescales, but an outage of that duration would suggest a third party issue is at least part of the problem.

No network operator can legislate for those.

That’s true. They have no control over the repair because they’re using a third party contractor. This contractor declared on 15 December that it was fixed and closed my ticket, but it still isn’t working for me and a large number of other customers, and we had to start all over again, At least when I had BT broadband, although the speed was woefully inadequate, an Open Reach engineer would come and ensure it was working before closing my ticket.
