I am with EE, contract just coming to end. My husband is with BT. He gets signal more or less anywhere, travelling in the car, but I don’t. I need to be logged in to someone’s wi fi or occasionally when out and about I get a signal. Can’t look up things ( maps / directions ) when in the car so borrow my husbands phone. Can’t send texts etc. I have no technical knowledge but this doesn’t make sense. I thought my new ee contract would be better than old one but it isn’t. As EE and BTvhave merged, does it make sense for me to change to BT ? Why is my husbands not only half the price mine is but heaps better service?

Hi @Chrispy44,
Welcome to the EE Community. 🙂
BT Mobile uses the same EE mobile network you'll be using with your EE phone, so this suggests there could be a problem with your phone.
What type of phone are you using?
What response do you get if you text BALANCE to 150?

What was the full reply you received, @Chrispy44?
Did it confirm you have an active data allowance?

Hi @Chrispy44,
A good way to test your phone would be a two way SIM swap.
If you swap SIM cards with your husband, does the issue follow your SIM?

@Chrispy44 Try performing a network reset on the device, it’s in settings>general>transfer and reset>reset>reset network settings.
as for the costs
You’re not said what device your husband has and what data allowances you both get on your tariffs.
What storage size is your SE ?

Before doing any resets, perform a 2way SIM-swap first. See if the problem follows your SIM or remains with your phone.
Put your non-working SIM in the working phone - what result?
