Poor mobile signal

We have moved to a prestigious postcode, HU14, and discover that the mobile signal is awful. It appears that many local residents have the same problem ,and are changing to O2, which is much better. Bearing in mind the area, I would have thought it would be in your interests to solve the problem,

Regards,

john

Hi @Longacre

Welcome to our community.

I'm sorry you are having issues with your signal in your new home. Have you checked here Service Status Checker to see if there is some work going on in the area temporarily?

Our technical team will also be happy to help check your exact location and see what they can do to help improve things.

I'm not quite sure what makes a postcode "prestigious" or how they should be immune from poor coverage. All networks have poor coverage in some areas, no social demographic or network is immune from it, and WiFi-calling provides indoor coverage mitigation - whilst then choosing the best overall network for wide area service.

EE's serving sites in that location have significantly more deployed spectrum, thus overall better performance should be broadly expected. All 3 serving sites have an 800Mhz service, whilst also being co-located with multiple high-band carriers for better performance.

It is becase there is a Waitrose up the road but it's still a Hull postcode. People in Swanland and Anlaby think they are better than others but still are Hull residents. Poor man's Beverly.

I drove past (A164) from Leeds on the way to Hull this afternoon and I have to say the 5GSA and 5G service is excellent compared to other areas, EE coverage is good and fast.

Looking closer, this village appears to be a good example of the differences in radio design between a low-band & high-band focused site grid.

One of the O2 servers here only carries a single 10Mhz Band-20 carrier. The coverage will be there, but will be easily swamped under moderate load without any mid/high-bands for support.

Site location will also be a factor.
