I cant get a stable connection to multiplayer games on my nintendo switch using my Samsung S22 as a mobile hotspot.
It seems that the phone has a NAT TYPE D and that multiplayer games require NAT TYPE B.
In order to avoid paying for a VPN, I need to find a way of switching the phone to NAT TYPE B.
Does anyone have a solution to this issue?

Hi @Graeme42
Thanks for coming here.
Sorry this is not a setting I am aware of that can be changed, however, another user may be able to suggest some further advice.
Does this happen if you hotspot with any other device to the Nintendo?
Leanne.

We have tried older phones. They seem to have NAT TYPE B. They connect and function properly but their wifi performance is very poor. Eg Samsung S7. Pixel.

But the same sim in an older phone S7 has a NAT type B, on the same network.
The S22 must be configured differently?

I'm not sure why they would be different, @Graeme42. Those types seem to be determined by Nintendo. CGNAT means that you don't get a static IP like you would with fixed line broadband. Have you tried changing the content lock status, I've seen with another user in the past that this helped in a similar situation.

We have tried to create an APN following suggestions online and in our EEstore. No success.
If it cant be changed then it seems that EE as a network is not compatable with multiplayer gaming on the Nintendo Switch? That does not seem likey.

- Not being traffic managed, despite going over 600GB on my unlimited data plan? in Mobile Data
- EE's terribly unsatisfactory service in Mobile Data
- Data Roaming in Greece slow or completely unusable in Roaming
