Only 4G speeds with 5G router

Hi, I recently started using an Ecotalk SIM for EE 5G mobile data. When I'm using the SIM on my Android phone, I get excellent download speeds indoors.

But when I plug the SIM into a 5G WiFi router (Vodafone Giga-cube, supposedly unlocked), I'm only getting 4G speeds--max 20Mbps or thereabouts. The router management pages show the device is connected to 5G network. The router LEDs tell it's connected to 5G with excellent signal strength. The APN settings on the router are the same as I had on the mobile phone.

The network mode selector is on 5G/4G auto. I don't see any settings where I can select the network band/frequency etc.

Does anyone know what could be wrong? Happy to share more details.

Thanks.

If the hardware is confirming a 5GNR connection, and you are transferring data, the only other step you can take is to check - if possible - which frequency bands you're using on the router. Then compare with the phone.

It may not solve the issue, but may at least identify whether you need to investigate the router, or pursue with EcoTalk.
