Similar to other recent posts, there’s a loss of 5G coverage in NE4 9** . 5G had been fine since it launched here but it disappeared about a week ago (4G only now on both EE phones in the house).
Looking now, your coverage checker says 5g isn’t available in my postcode yet ( it was) but after two reports on the service checker I’m told there is no problem.
I would call but don’t have the time to wait on hold in the evenings and can’t use my phone for calls when I’m at work during the day. The lack of detailed information is a little frustrating (e.g. is it a permanent change in coverage or something that can be fixed).
Solved! See the answer below or view the solution in context.

I understand this i was asking if the issues they have been seeing has been resolved on their side @bristolian

@rhysster974 No, still on fairly slow 4g here. 5g used to reach my house but obviously something has changed.
It does create issues as I currently work from home and can’t rely on patchy 4g if my broadband has issues and I need to hotspot.
As @bristolian has said coverage can change. Would be nice if our contracts were flexible in that regard, but I digress.

An interesting point - both EE's legals & the radio design, is for different "G" to exist alongside each other.
The logical flip-side of your argument is also for prices to increase as newer technologies & wider coverage, rolls out. That would never be popular!

@ahad2 same here in MK41 8. 5G went 4 weeks ago and nobody seems to know whats happening. luckily I live just down from a 4G mast. Im really hoping 5G does come back as its all across Bedford including the town centre. This seems to be a common theme as ive seen 3 or 4 other posts around this.

I've had the same thing in Ilford at my house. We've had 5g for a few years here, then all of a sudden, a small square of zero 5g coverage shows on the coverage map. So it's not our devices.
I can see the cell tower from where I'm sat in the living room. Clear line of sight. Always had superb speed and ping, no matter the time of day.

Out of interest, how far are you from (what you believe to be) the serving site?
Are you still getting 4G coverage? Or are you now getting 5G from a more distant site?

No, still just 4G-CA. The 5G used to be a decently strong signal, now it's gone completely. It still shows as available indoors on the coverage map, a blatant lie.
