Update: 27 September 2024
Over the past few months, our engineers have been continuing legal negotiations to legally acquire the land from the landowner and start building the equipment needed for the new mast. Pending a positive outcome from the legal steps, we can start building the equipment needed and confirm an approximate on-air date for the new mast.
For the second location (which we have located as a back-up, in case of any unforeseen problems with the first location) we have completed further surveys to make sure the land will be suitable and submitted these for approval to the landowner. Pending a positive outcome from the surveys, we can start legal proceedings to acquire the land from the landowner and start building the equipment needed for the new mast.
For the third area (in case of any unforeseen problems with the two locations) we are working with the site provider to arrange a date to access the area to complete surveys and make sure the area will be suitable for the equipment.
We will keep you updated on this post.
Update: 18 April 2024
Our engineers have had the designs approved at the first location by the landowner, and we have started legal steps to legally acquire the land from the landowner and start building the equipment needed for the new mast. Once all legal steps have been completed, we can confirm an approximate on-air date for the new mast.
For the second area (which we have located as a back-up, in case of any unforeseen problems with the first location) our engineers submitted the structural surveys and are waiting for a decision from the landowner. Pending a positive outcome from the surveys, we can start legal proceedings to acquire the land from the landowner and start building the equipment needed for the new mast.
Our engineers have located a third area (in case of any unforeseen problems with the two locations) and are working with the site providers to complete surveys to make sure the area will be suitable for the equipment.
We will keep you updated on this post.

Update: 02 September 2022
Over the past month our engineers have been working on designs for the first location, as part of the designs we will complete surveys at the location to make sure this will be suitable for the equipment. We are currently waiting for a date to access the area to complete the surveys, once these have been completed, we will submit these to the landowner for approval.
With regards to the second area, we have located (as a back-up, in case of any unforeseen problems with the first location), we have submitted the surveys and we have been required to complete further structural surveys to make sure the area will be suitable for the equipment. We are working with the landowner to access the area and complete the surveys. Once this step is completed, we will submit the structural surveys for approval. Pending a positive outcome we can start legal proceedings to acquire the land from the landowner and start building the equipment needed for the new mast.
We will keep you updated on this post.
Update: 08 July 2022
Our engineers have been working with the other providers to arrange a date to access the area and complete the required designs. However, we have been unable to access the area by the beginning of July and are currently awaiting a date for the engineers to attend the site.
For the second area we have located as a backup, in case of any unforeseen complications with the first location, we have visited the site to complete the required surveys to assess if the land will be suitable for the equipment. Barring any unforeseen delays, we expect to have an outcome from the surveys by the end of July. Pending a positive outcome, we can start legal proceedings to acquire the land from the landowner and start building the equipment needed for the new mast.
We will keep you updated on this post.
Update: 28 June 2022
Over the past few weeks we’ve been working with the other providers to arrange a date to visit the shared site and complete the designs needed to make sure the area is suitable for a new mast. Barring any unforeseen delays, we will access the site by the beginning of July to complete the designs. Pending a positive outcome to the designs, we will start building the equipment needed for the new mast and confirm an approximate on-air date.
In case of any unforeseen complications, our engineers have located another area and will be conducting surveys in the next few weeks to make sure the land will be suitable for the equipment needed for the new mast.
We will keep you updated on this post.
Update: 31 May 2022
Over the past few months our engineers have been working with the other providers to access the shared site and complete the designs. Barring any unforeseen delays, we will access the site by the middle of June and complete the designs needed to make sure the area will be suitable for the new mast. Pending a positive outcome, we will start building the equipment needed and confirm an on-air date for the new mast.
We will keep you updated in this post.
Update: 21 February 2022
Over the past few months our engineers have been working with the other providers to arrange a date to visit the shared site and complete the redesigns for the mast.
Once the designs have been completed and the location is going to be suitable for the new mast, we can start building the equipment needed.
We will keep you updated on this post.
Update: 09 December 2021
Over the past few weeks, the work has been completed by the other providers on the shared site. Our engineers have visited the site and found the current design for the new mast is not going to be suitable for the equipment. Our engineers are working with the site provider to carry out new surveys and complete redesigns for the area.
Once this step is complete, we can start building the equipment needed for the new mast.
We will keep you updated on this post.
Update: 08 November 2021
Our engineers expect all work required by the other providers to be completed by the end of November. Once this work has been completed, we can schedule a date to access the shared site and complete the installation of the equipment needed for the mast.
Once we have an on-air date for the new mast, we will update this post
Update: 17 August 2021
Our engineers have visited the flooded site in Rainham, after health and safety work has made the site accessible. We have installed the signal feed, and this is now on air to improve service. We are continuing to monitor performance in the area.
Regarding the new site build which is also progressing, our engineers have been unable to access the shared site over the past few weeks, work is needed to be complete by other providers before we can install the equipment needed for the new mast. We are working with the providers for an installation date, once we have a date for the mast being on air, we will update this post.
Update: 04 June 2021
Our engineers are progressing with the build of the new mast in Rainham. Unfortunately, as the site is shared with other providers and work is ongoing at the site, we are unable to gain access to integrate the mast onto the network by the end of June.
We are working with the providers to schedule the integration. We expect the mast to be on air by the end of August, barring any unforeseen delays.
Update: 27 May 2021
Over the past few weeks are engineers have been installing the equipment needed for the new mast in Rainham. This is a shared site with other providers, and we have experienced a slight delay gaining access and integrating the mast onto the network. We expect the mast to be on air by the end of June, barring any unforeseen delays.
We will keep you updated on this post.
Update: 19 May 2021
Our engineers have visited the flooded site and the equipment we need to access is currently underwater. The area is currently a health and safety risk, and we are unable to install the signal feed to improve service. We are looking at other options for the mast and will keep you updated on this post.
We have been working on building the equipment needed for the new mast and will start integrating the mast onto the network. We expect the mast to be on air by the end of May 2021, barring any unforeseen delays
Update: 11 March 2021
Our engineers have attended the site last week and have found water levels have reduced. We are working with the site owner to repair the damage caused by the floods and make the area safe for our engineers to complete the work needed to install the new signal feed to the mast in Rainham.
We have found a suitable location for one of the new masts and will start building the equipment needed over the next few months. We expect the new mast to be on air by the end of May 2021, barring any unforeseen delays.
Unfortunately, the second new mast for the area has recently had planning permission declined and we are currently in negotiations for the location to be approved. We will keep you updated on this post.
Update: 21 January 2021
Our engineers have been unable to gain access to the site to install the new signal feed to the mast in Rainham. The area is still flooded and is currently a health and safety risk. We are visiting the site regularly to assess the water levels and, as soon as they have reduced, we will start the work needed to improve service in the area.
To improve coverage in the long term we are installing two additional masts. The development of the two masts has suffered delays during 2020, because of various restrictions during the pandemic. Negotiations are ongoing and we expect the masts to be on air by the end of June 2021, barring any unforeseen delays.
We will keep you updated on this post.
Update: 02 November 2020
Our engineers have been working on the mast to install a new signal feed, which is required to circumvent the fact that our signal is being blocked by a docked cruise ship which is being used as a temporary Covid hospital. Unfortunately, we’ve been unable to complete the installation because the area is severely flooded and poses a health risk to the team.
We are working closely with the building managers to gain access and monitoring the flooded area, we expect the work to be completed by the end of January.
Work is ongoing on the two additional masts and we expect these both to be on air early next year, barring any unforeseen delays.
We will keep you updated on this post.
Update: 16 October 2020
12 months ago, we lost our key mobile site in Rainham at very short notice when we were asked to vacate because of redevelopment plans. Because of where the site in question was located, and the alternative sites available, we planned to install four new mobile sites in the area to fully replace the coverage provided by the one that we lost.
We installed two of the four in November last year, which has lessened the impact of losing our key site. We had expected the other two to be online by now, but unfortunately Covid has delayed this. We expect the additional two masts to be on air early next year, barring any unforeseen delays.
We have installed upgrades to the two sites we installed in November 2019 in a bid to further improve coverage until the additional two mobile sites are installed.
Unfortunately there has been further disruption since March, when one of our sites had its signal blocked by a docked cruise ship which is being used as a temporary Covid hospital. Because of the indefinite nature of this obstruction, we have been working hard to get a new signal feed for the site and this is now due to be installed and working by the end of the month
We will keep you updated on the progress of the two new masts on this post.
Update: 14 February 2020
Our engineers installed two new masts in the area at the end of last year. During February, the new masts will have upgrades installed to improve coverage in Rainham.
During 2020 we will be installing another two masts in the area, and we’ll keep you updated on this post.
We’re aware of an ongoing signal issue that is affecting some of our customers in Rainham.
Our site in the area has had to be removed due to the building being demolished, we have constructed a replacement mast to replace the existing equipment at a new site.
We have found the replacement site is not providing as much coverage to the area as the previous mast. We have been looking at ways to improve coverage and we have gained permission for another permanent mast to be situated in the area, this is due to be on air during November.
Work is ongoing for further improvements during 2020 within the area and we will continue to keep you updated on this post.
We are sorry for any inconvenience caused. In the meantime, if you’re an EE pay monthly customer with a compatible phone you can use WiFi Calling to make and receive calls and texts over a WiFi connection.

And yet more delays, once we get to the end of June it'll be put back to July no doubt.
Top trolling by EE too in Rainham, counted 4 massive EE billboards along the A13 bigging themselves up, absolute joke.

LOL! I saw them billboards too and couldn’t help but laugh. It’s a shame other Rainham folk aren’t commenting on this thread as it only shows two of us badgering EE. If only EE can see the Rainham community groups on FB...
Anyway my contract ends in August. I’ve had enough of all this and constant complaining so I most likely will leave the network. This has been the worse experience with a mobile network I’ve ever had. Should have stuck with my previous provider.

Seriously cant believe how long this is taking, surely there should be some prioritisation due to how long the network has been poor in the area.

August. We shall see.
Today has been hell. I work from home and my WiFi went down. I wasn’t even able to call my employers to let them know what is going on as I have no signal whatsoever!!! And obviously can’t use my mobile data to work. What exactly am I paying for?! Absolute joke!!!!! Fortunately, unlike EE, my WiFi provider got the job done to fix the fault. Do you have any idea the inconvenience this is causing everyone?! Not being able to make a normal phone call or send a text?! A simple thing to do on a phone and it can’t be done! And the audacity of EE billboard signs being put up in the area saying no1 network. You’re able to take the time to put these up, but not repair anything...
Please just make sure we don’t get fobbed off again in August. It’s been going on long enough. Thanks.

Also, whatever happened to the new signal feed that was meant to happen, brushed under the carpet?

Hi, any news? My discount is finished (again). Issue still not resolved (again). I know you said August but any news will be appreciated. Just got this text which made me laugh: Hi from EE, WiFi Calling helps you stay connected to make or receive calls if you experience any mobile network issues. It's free and easy to set up.
WiFi calling is the ONLY way I can make calls! To get a text like this is an absolute joke.

Not even gonna bother to phone up regarding my laughable discount that finished months ago. The guy I was put on to, some second line manager, spoke to me like I was trying to swindle millions of pounds out of EE.
All I wanted was to pay an amount that is worthy of the service.
Anyway, come on EE…news on the new mast please and the forgotten signal feed also!
