Update: 14 November 2024

Over the past few days, our engineers have completed integrating the mast onto the network and the mast is now on-air. Full service has been restored to Northampton.


Update: 07 November 2024

Over the past few weeks, our engineers have completed building the equipment needed for the new mast. Unfortunately, due to circumstances out of our control, we have experienced a slight delay integrating the mast onto the network and are currently awaiting a date for the integration to be completed. Once we have a date for the integration, we can confirm an approximate on-air date for the new mast.

Update: 25 July 2024

Our engineers have secured legal access at the first location to start building the equipment needed for the new mast. Barring any unforeseen delays, we expect to start building the equipment during September and can confirm an approximate on-air date once the site is built.

For the second location (as a back-up in case of any unforeseen problems with the first area), our engineers are conducting surveys to make sure the area will be suitable for the new mast.

We’re aware of a signal issue that is affecting some of our customers in the Northampton area.

Our mast in the area had to be removed from the existing site at the beginning of July 2024, as this was requested by the landowner. Our engineers began looking for a new location as soon as we were made aware our equipment had to be removed. We have located two potential areas for a new mast and are currently conducting surveys to make sure the locations will be suitable for the equipment. 

Pending a positive outcome from the surveys, we can start legal steps to legally acquire the land from the site provider and start building the equipment needed for the new mast.

Hi all. For some months I have been unable to get a phone signal outside my house, and can only make calls from within my house if I have the internet running & I can connect to wifi calling. I've been with EE for many years & it's always been bad, but now it's virtually impossible!

This isn't good enough. The reception has ALWAYS been poor & at the moment is non existent a lot of the time. I will be seeking a rebate for all three phone plans on my account as the phone plans are 'not fit for function'.

Really need  more up to date information on where EE is at on the Mast situation in Northampton as this has been going on since beginning of July. How much longer is this going to go on for please update us

Can EE confirm at what stage they are at with regards the new mast going up. Last update from yourselves was that it was being built in September. We are now coming to the end of September and I'm still unable to use my data or get signal in my area. This issue has been going on since beginning of July, really need an update on this situation

Hi, do you know when this issue will resolve? It’s now end of September and I’m still getting awful signal around the NN1 area so bad it’s affecting my daily tasks! Is there a fix? Has it being resolved or any progress made? Paying so much for ‘the best network’ but not getting it!!!

Agree. Absolute shambles. Why no update as I know damn well there are updates? Such as the fact that the site for the new mast has been signed off by the council and the mast now needs to be installed. Meanwhile I enter the third month in a row where EE have had no choice but to give me a full free month.

I live in NN1 area of Northampton and I'm unable to make or receive any calls unless someone calls me on WhatsApp.

its appalling!!

Also when I'm walking the dog the surrounding streets are terrible

when is this going to be sorted?

No dates yet unfortunately. I contacted EE and ended up accepting a discount on future bills for 6 months. It's something, but not a solution.
