Update: 19 June 2024

Over the past few weeks, our engineers have completed building the equipment needed for the temporary mast. The mast is now on-air, and service has been restored to the Hornchurch area.

We will continue to monitor performance in the area.

Update: 07 June 2024

Over the past few months, our engineers have completed the surveys for the permanent mast and have started legal negotiations to legally acquire the land from the site provider. Pending a positive outcome from the legal steps, we can start building the equipment needed for the new mast and confirm an approximate on-air date.

For the temporary mast, our engineers have completed the surveys at the location and are finalising the designs for the mast. Once the designs have been completed, we will start legal steps to legally acquire the land from the site provider. Pending a positive outcome from the designs and legal steps, we can start building the equipment needed for the new mast and confirm an approximate on-air date.

We will keep you updated on this post.

Update: 18 April 2024

Our engineers began looking for a new location as soon as we were made aware our equipment had to be removed. We have located two potential areas for a new mast, one permanent mast and a temporary mast to restore coverage as quickly as possible. We are currently conducting surveys at both locations to make sure the sites will be suitable for the equipment.

For the permanent mast, pending a positive outcome from the surveys and the area will be suitable for the equipment, we can start legal steps to legally acquire the land from the site provider and start building the equipment needed for the new mast.

For the temporary mast, pending a positive outcome from the surveys and the area will be suitable, our engineers will start building the equipment needed for the mast and confirm an approximate on-air date this summer.

We will keep you updated on this post.

We are aware of a signal issue that is affecting some of our customers in the Hornchurch area. Our mast in the area had to be removed from the existing site in March 2024, as this was requested by the landowner.

We’re sorry for any inconvenience caused. In the meantime, you may be able to use WiFi Calling to make and receive calls and texts over a WiFi connection.

For information on who can use WiFi Calling and how to set up this service, please see our Using WiFi Calling, Help page.

These issues in Hornchurch have been ongoing since March.

There does not seem to be any change anytime soon.

I cannot get phone calls all the time and even mobile data does not work. I will be looking for alternative provider.

EE WiFi-calling supports sending & receiving texts entirely as normal.

When O2 & VF first launched VoWiFi, they didn't support SMS over WiFi, but EE always have.

Suggesting otherwise is incorrect.

Correction: WiFi-Calling is supposed to support text message access as well as calling. We have family with multiple EE contracts across Hot church, all have had to enable Wi-Fi calling, which has allowed them to receive calls, though this connection has been intermittent, with no issues connecting to other Wi-Fi services for browsing or streaming on their phones or on there devices. None of them have been able to receive any text messages with Wi-Fi calling enabled, and have still had to go out of area to receive authentication passcodes, etc., at a huge inconvenience to them.

Has anyone else experienced issues receiving text messages while WiFi calling is enabled?

Spoken to EE for over two hours and still no help or advise when this mast will go up been bounced to puller to post and ask to leave my contact early due to no phone service since March and they has refused. Going to take this to the communication omnibus man and court if needed. After 15 years of being a loyal customer shame on you EE

EE. Why is there lack of information from you on this site as to when you are going to sort out our lack of coverage?

You are taking our money, not providing a service, and rapidly showing yourselves up a as an irreputable organisation.

I accept things go wrong. I do not accept not being told how this happened, or progress on trsolvi g this. Surely you had a contract for th original mast placement?

EE. DO YOU CARE WHAT YOUR CUSTOMERS THINK OF YOU?

@Fosterbus   Sorry what ?       My coverage is almost perfect.   Jumping on to a public forum to rant and rave about a coverage issue and not say where that issue is is kind of defeating the point of the rant and rave because your not exactly speaking about the whole of the EE network that covers the UK.

Any mast issue EE are not obligated to inform you how that issue happened.   You can sign up 5 different locations to receive updates about masts in certain areas. You can use THIS and the check service status tab.

Hi @RM11residents

Thanks for coming back to the community.

Please see the below information for your questions 🙂

  1. The survey mentioned in my last update is a ground structural survey of the area where we have found a potential location for a mast. This is to ensure the area will be suitable for the equipment. This isn’t a survey sent to residents in the area.
  2. The temporary mast is in a different location to the permanent mast.
  3. We aim to have the temporary mast installed until the permanent mast in on-air. Once the permanent mast is on-air, we will remove the temporary mast.
  4. The permanent mast referenced in previous updates will not be a Greenfield (Standalone) mast

Thanks 🙂

Leanne.

I just had a call from someone claiming to be from EE offering a 30% reduction on my bill due to the service issues.

They hung up when I questioned it.

As we are already getting a monthly refund I think this could have been a scam call.

Be wary all

Thanks for the heads up👍🏻

Hi all

Thanks for update but there is still  intermittent problems with receiving and making phone calls.

When will this be sorted. It's been since March 2024. Or should we all find alternative providers that can fulfill their contract to us.

Thanks
