 Update: 03 May 2024

For the first and third location (back-up in case of any unforeseen complications with the first two locations), we are building the new mast on the roof top of a high rise building. This will take longer than some of our other new mast builds, because we are taking every step to ensure we meet the Government's new legislation following the Grenfell Tower investigation.

As a result of the investigation, additional safety protocols and certifications need to be provided. We are currently reviewing all our requirements to make sure we meet these, and providing the required documentation to obtain the certification and approval needed to start building the equipment.

For the second location, our engineers have submitted the revised surveys and designs for approval to the site provider. Pending a positive outcome from the surveys and designs, we can start building the equipment needed for the new mast and confirm an approximate on-air date.

We will keep you updated on this post.

Update: 19 January 2024

For the first location, our engineers have amended the designs as requested to the site provider. Pending a positive outcome from the amended designs, we can start legal steps to legally acquire the land and start building the equipment needed for the new mast.

Over the past few months, our engineers have had planning approved at the second location following the appeal. We are revising the designs and surveys at the area to make sure no amends are required. Once all surveys and designs have been completed and no changes are required, we can start building the equipment needed for the new mast.

Our engineers have submitted further structural surveys for the third location, which we have located as a back-up in case of any unforeseen complications with the second location. Pending a positive outcome from the structural surveys, we can start legal steps to legally acquire the land and start building the equipment needed for the new mast.

We will keep you updated on this post.

Update: 06 October 2023

Over the past few months, the electrical tests have been approved at the first location, and our engineers have accessed the area and submitted the drawings. As part of the planning permission, we have been requested to amend the drawings for the equipment and have submitted these for approval to the site provider. Pending a positive outcome from the amended drawings, we can start legal steps to legally acquire the land and start building the equipment needed for the new mast.

For the third area we have located in case the appeal is rejected for the second location, we have submitted the surveys as part of the planning permission. Our engineers have been requested to complete further structural surveys, and we expect the structural surveys to be completed and submitted for approval by the beginning of November. Pending a positive outcome from the structural surveys, we can start legal steps to legally acquire the land and start building the equipment needed for the new mast.

We will keep you updated on this post.

Update: 07 August 2023

Over the past month, our engineers have submitted the electrical tests for approval and, pending a positive outcome, we’ll start negotiations to agree planning permission and complete drawings of the area. Once all negotiations have been completed, we can start building the equipment needed for the new mast.

For the second location, our engineers have submitted the appeal for planning permission to the landowner. The lead time for the appeal is up to 12 months. Pending a positive outcome from the appeal, we can start building the equipment needed for the new mast.

We have located a third area, in case the appeal is rejected, and we are completing surveys to make sure the area will be suitable for the equipment to be installed. We’re aware of a signal issue that is affecting some of our customers in Bayswater.

Our mast in the area had to be relocated in January 2020 and we have found the replacement site is not providing as much coverage as the previous mast. We have been looking at ways to improve coverage in the area over the past year, which included adding upgrades to existing sites in the area to improve signal. Unfortunately, this has not been possible, and we require a new site in the area to provide the same level of coverage as the previous mast provided.

Our engineers have located a new area for the mast to be installed, and we are currently carrying out surveys on the site to make sure the area will be suitable for the equipment. Once all surveys are complete, we will begin steps to legally acquire the land from the site provider. Once all legal steps have been complete, we can start to build the equipment needed for the new mast and confirm an approximate installation date

We’re sorry for any inconvenience caused. In the meantime, you may be able to use WiFi Calling to make and receive calls and texts over a WiFi connection.

I have been having a problem with buffering and huge latency (several thousand ms). I have tried rebooting the modem. I contacted EE and I was told there is a mast in the area which needs to be repaired. I was wondering if I could get some information- where it is located and if it is 4g or 5g so I can try to avoid connecting to it until it gets repaired.

This poor service level has gone on for more than a year - never mind 5G , getting 2 bars of strength on 4G has been a good result for a very long time, yet I don’t see any discount for customers to whom you provide a service well below the advertised levels. Why not?

Is there an email address for the council that EE customers (in the area) can contact in order to put some pressure on them so they know the importance of the situation. It’s hard to work from home when I’m stuck on no service for months …

thank you!

Can you all please hurry up and fix these issues. It been ongoing since June/July 2021. It is the most frustrating thing ever. No help given. No advice given. Just get it sorted.

It’s an absolute joke to be honest. Paying for a 5G contract and I’m stuck on no service …

Today even 4G in W2 6HX is miserably slow (1-2 bars, normally 5).

the coverage checker doesn’t have a button to submit issues. Or I don’t see it.

Your postcode is close to mine and I’m just stuck on no service again today .. truly a headache

seems like something is fixed today, try it
