Any 3G-only phone already drops back to 2G when there is no 3G coverage. All that changes post-3G shutdown is that this will be a permanent state of affairs.

You're likely to see 3G coverage become more & more scarce over time.

Also you appear to have used your mobile number as your forum username - spammers may well use this as a means to start contacting you.

@4479 : Yes, until EE shuts down 3G in early 2024. After which you may make calls & texts over 2G until that is shut down by 2033.

If you think I helped please feel free to hit the "Thumbs Up" button below.

To phone EE CS: Dial Freephone +44 800 079 8586 - Option 1 for Mobile Phone & Mobile Broadband or Option 2 for Home Broadband & Home Phone

ISPs: 1999: Freeserve 48K Dial-Up => 2005: Wanadoo 1 Meg BB => 2007: Orange 2 Meg BB => 2008: Orange 8 Meg LLU => 2010: Orange 16 Meg LLU => 2011: Orange 20 Meg WBC => 2014: EE 20 Meg WBC => 2020: EE 40 Meg FTTC => 2022: EE 80 Meg FTTC (no landline number)

So Do I Need To Do Anything To Go From 3G To 2G To Make Calls Or Will My Old Phone Do This Automatically

Your phone will auto downgrade to 2G when necessary.
