Hi Debbie,
I am really struggling to get 5G SA enabled on my S24 with X24 All rounder plan and have tried physical sim then eSIM and finally a sim that I am told by EE shop is from new stock.
Ive tried to test in Manchester and Central London. The postcodes have been confirmed as being in 5G SA coverage.
Ive had many calls and 2 with level 2 tech. I’m waiting on a call back from the second.
I use engineering mode in the phone to see if on 5G SA. I’m only on NSA.
It took me two weeks to get my Vodafone phone onto 5G SA when they first launched. But have it a good coverage.

Well they should. Why launch a new service and not brief customer services as to the ins and outs of the new service.

Understanding the network architecture and radio engineering aspects of services, is the task of network engineers. It would be unnecessary for the vast majority of users - even if they wanted to, which most don't.
That is not the task of frontline CS, who can use process guides and follow an escalation process as required.

You sound very knowledgeable ....so can you provide any help or advice to paulchauveau original post?

Neither of the level 2 tech guys have had enquiries on 5G SA
L2 are a team within CS, but are not part of network engineering. If they can't resolve an issue, they should be raising fault tickets into the relevant support team - for network-side checks to be made.
I have suspicions as to the underlying cause here, but these are based on a hunch rather than anything concrete. Not sure what's meant by "that's a no then".

Thanks for posting and I'll be getting onto L2 again and get them to raise a 'fault ticket' as you have suggested. Why they haven't done this already I don't know.....

Hi,
Can you share your suspicions as to the underlying cause pls?

Can somebody from EE please confirm that someone somewhere has successfully accessed 5G SA with a Samsung S24?
I am having to go to an EE shop in London to ask them to try my sim which is confirmed R15 in another S24 phone. Then the L2 tech team will have exhausted all possible solutions that they are aware of. They will then raise a fault ticket.
Everybody I have spoken to at EE has not got any experience of 5G SA. This is crazy after the fanfare of the launch on 5th Spetember. There must surely be someone at EE who has seen a phone on their 5G SA network and can then look at my phone, sim and contract. Why isn't there a 5G SA specialist or dept?
I feel like crying after all the running around I have done and the hours on the phone.....

Hi
I've a new Samsung s24 bought from Samsung UK and can confirm that I'm running 5g standalone. I'm using a recent esim and running android version 6.1 not the latest 6.1 .1 which hasn't arrived on my phone yet.
It's not brilliant though as the download speeds are lower than it was before but we'll see going forward 😀
