5G 5GEE Lag spikes.

Hello,

I recently signed up to the 5GEE service as my home broadband was barely pulling 6mbps before making my gaming experience a nightmare.

Upon upgrading to 5g my first couple of days I was playing to my hearts content, chatting with my friends, playing Call of Duty, Fortnite and FIFA all without a single issue.

Throughout my first two or so days my ping was steady under 60 ms, closer to 40 on Rocket League, awesome. And my speeds are great, minimum of 30mbps, plenty to game on.

After this, though, something seems to have changed. Now every couple of seconds or so my ping spikes to 100+ and then back down to around 60. On a bad spike it can go as high as 500ms. This is making my main hobby a nightmare again. Rather upsetting as you can imagine, especially since it was working fine to begin with... so what's changed?

I called up their customer service and apparently ping itself doesn't warrant cancellation as the speeds are still there. This seems unfair as with ping as it is now I cannot use the internet for its designated purpose.

It is obviously able to achieve the desired ping but then these spikes ruin the experience.

So what gives?

Hi @chommytong,

Welcome to the EE Community. 🙂

Are you connecting your console/PC to your router via WiFi or ethernet?

Were any other devices connected when you experienced the ping spikes?
