Hi there,
I have a mobile 5G unlimited data/max speeds plan for my phone. I use this as a hotspot to my PC/PS5 to download games etc. as it's much faster than my fixed line broadband connection in my home.
I used up the 600GB cap (I know it's 'unlimited', but you start getting traffic managed after using 600GB) last weekend, and for the last week or so, my speeds slowed right down. Yet today, I've just been downloading again at max speeds, so they've shot back up. Yet my plan/data doesn't reset until the 23rd of the month.
Any idea why this is? I did try to contact EE last weekend to explain that it's personal usage, downloading video games etc, though at the time, they said there wasn't much they could do.
It just seems odd (and I'm not complaining!) that my speeds have shot right back up again, yet have been slow all week.
Any ideas?

Don't worry I am sure EE will catch up with you.
Thanks

I'd rather they didn't, traffic management is an archaic concept in 2025 when everything uses the internet and video games are often 100GB plus. If I'm paying for unlimited data and speeds, that's what it should be, permanently.

I'd imagine, in terms of traffic management, the reason for the slower speeds is being depriortisied at times of higher demand on the radio network locally.
It's possible that the demand is not always sufficient for you to need to be deprioritised constantly. Some people consistently run over their 600GB fair usage and never experience any significant traffic management, it's likely based on network conditions in the particular area.
