I’ve just switched from Virgin to Ee. I had no mobile data for two weeks and EE weren’t / couldn’t help me.
I tried à Tesco sim and it worked but no Mobile data with EE sim. Eventually, had to get the phone reset by apple. Then I had to re-install all my apps. Apparently Tesco/O2/Virgin all the same sims which is why the Tesco sim worked but EE didn’t.
Is this problem caused by Virgin or EE.

First thing I would check is the APN Settings are correct for the EE Network, Virgin / Tesco / O2, all use the same O2 Network and although the APN for each of them will probably be different they would give some form of Data Access (if not slightly limited) on the O2 Network even as a mix and mash of APN Settings, where this would almost give No Data Access on EE as its a totally different Network.
EE APN Main Settings are -
APN - everywhere
USER - eesecure
PASSWORD - secure
