I have 25gb of data a month. Always had the same contract. The past few months since January I am now using up my mobile data before the end of the month, which has never ever happened before. for example my allowance renews on the 27th of each month and I have already used 80% in 10 days this month? My usage isn’t anymore than pre Christmas, I don’t have any answers to why all of a sudden I am running out within days of allowance refresh. I phoned EE and they said Instagram stories take up a lot of data but I always looked at them pre Christmas too!I have turned everything off mobile satay other than essential apps, but doesn’t help. I am adamant that something else is happening or someone is stealing my data.it is getting ridiculous now.

It sounds like it could be an accumulation of all of those things, @Basca5
If someone sends you a picture or video on WhatsApp, or you watch a video on Facebook when you're not connected to WiFi, it will be deducted from your allowance.
The best way to keep track of it is by going into your phone's Mobile Data settings and reset the statistics. It will show you how much mobile data has been used on each app since it was last reset.

Did you get to the bottom of this issue?
I feel like the last 3-5 month I have been close to my data limit or have had to buy an add on and this has never happened to me before. My circumstances haven’t change whenever I’m at home I’m connected to the WIfi and my average monthly data usage with my last network provider was between 8-10Gb. Why is this happening?

Hi @SMcNally93
Welcome to the community.
You can usually keep track of your data usage in your phone's settings. I'd recommend resetting the data counter at the beginning of your billing period. Then you'll be able to see which apps use the most data. It may not be 100% accurate, but it will give you a good idea of where the data is being used.

Hi sarahjh7
Yes, I did get to the bottom of my data being eaten and it was NOT Facebook! It appears that EVERY program I had on my phone was updating more or less simultaneously - Emails, Google, Microsoft,.... you name it, it was updating and using huge amounts of data to do so. Unfortunately I discovered this AFTER I my upped my payment plan to stop having to use add on data. Now that the upgrades appear to have finished, my useage has dropped back to almost pre upgrade level.

Guys, this is not an app issue. Unfortunately I have had to move one of my three mobile numbers out of EE and the problem has disappeared instantly, and this is after numerous calls where they treat you with kid gloves. If EE don't sort it for you, vote with your PAC code.
