Issues with data on Messenger

Hi, I have also been experiencing issues with being able to use the messenger app whilst using data. I have tried this solution but it didn’t work. Have you got anything else I can try?

Thanks for getting back to me @Holly_DPhone.
If all other apps are working okay, please check the app for any available updates. It’s also worth deleting and reinstalling the app to see if that helps..

If the issue continues, I'd recommend getting in touch with our Technical Guides, who can investigate further and help get things sorted.

Is it only "Facebook Messenger" that's affected?  Have you been able to use this app over mobile data in the past?

It appears to only be Facebook messenger yes. I have upgraded to an iPhone 14 recently and I’ve been having issues with it since then. Previously I had an iPhone 11 and was able to use messenger over data just fine.

I suspect yours is not the same issue as in the thread you'd added to, so yours is now a separate thread.

For avoidance of doubt, does Facebook itself work on your phone via data? How about Twitter/X?

I haven’t got twitter/ X, but the Facebook app itself seems to be working. I don’t use the Facebook app much so I can’t say I have noticed as much.

Hi @Holly_DPhone.

Welcome to the community.

Could you check your phone settings to make sure Messenger is allowed to use mobile data. If you go to Settings > Tap on Mobile Data > Scroll down to Messenger > Make sure the toggle for Mobile Data is turned on.

I have already checked this, it’s on. I’ve just checked again and I’ve turned it on and off
