Hotspot left on and used by others

Hi,

So basically, I **bleep**ed up. I put my hotspot on to update my car (yay 2025), and since it was a quick thing I disabled the password security.

Well, guess who forgot to turn the hotspot off again upon walking back to my flat....

Anyway, because of this, someone appears to have taken the liberty of using my hotspot whilst I slept (flat is in the middle of town next to bars). Not a big deal, except for that they used circa 20GB of data.

Do you think EE would be receptive to me asking for some of my allowance back if I be upfront and say I messed up? Or am I out of luck until the end of the month?

(Yes, I realise it's my fault, and if there's nothing I can do about it so be it)

Your data has been used legitimately with your permission. I don't see any grounds for complaint here.

@jgray2023  Sorry no it’s been used.   Why would EE give you an allowance of data for your own mistake.

Wasn't really a complaint per-say, just planned to make a compassionate request. But like I said in my original post, I appreciate it's my mistake and I'm likely just out of luck.

Figured as much. Thanks.

Just thought I'd ask on the off chance anyone thought they might be kind about my mistake. Like I said in my original post, I appreciate it's my mistake and I'm likely just out of luck.
