@Crazycatlady2  EE don’t have any control over your WhatsApp settings.   Is this via WiFi or cellular data ?  If you open what’s app and click settings then click storage and data scroll down to media auto download is it set to both WiFi and cellular or never or just WiFi for what ever settings you choose?

Hey there @Crazycatlady2, welcome to the EE Community 😊

WhatsApp should definitely allow you to download files automatically via WiFi, but there is a setting to restrict this on mobile data like @Chris_B has mentioned. 

What exactly is happening when you try to view and download these pictures?
