Gifting data blip

Hi

I have a family account which I am the main phone with 200Gb of data.

I've used my 200Gb account for years to gift my family members who are on 1Gb plans.

Recently there have been some changes on my family account members; my daughter cancelled, and I upgraded my son from a sim only 1gb to an iPhone 13 1Gb contract, so we now have 3 phones, mine, my wife's and my son's.

Now when I go into my gift data screen, my phone, and my sons phone shows as normal.

My wife's phone now shows as unlimited data.

If I actually go into Gift Data, I can gift my son, but not my wife, as the option for her is disabled.

This isnt surprising you may think, as she is showing on the front screen as unlimited data, BUT, in the screen where you gift data, she shows up as [xxx] Mb of 1Gb remaining.

My concern is that she isnt in fact ulimited, and I can no longer gift her any data and her 1Gb will run out shortly.

Any ideas please?

Thanks

Paul

Hi @hawkerpaul.

If you log into your account and view her plan under Plan & Add-Ons, how much data does it show?

Hi Jon

It shows as 1Gb in there.

Interestingly, I've just gone into the overall family usage screen again, and she's showing there as 1Gb now and not as unlimited.

I think I named this thread correctly (blip!)

Thanks @Jon_K

Thanks @hawkerpaul.

If she somehow runs out of data when she shouldn't, I'd recommend getting in touch with our Customer Care team so they can check your account.

Ok thanks Jon.

I've gifted 10Gb now and I'll keep an eye on her account n the meantime.

Thanks again

It may be worth getting in touch anyway, @hawkerpaul, as you shouldn't need to gift data to an unlimited plan.

Her plan is 1Gb but was showing as unlimited for a while when I was going into the family usage section of the EE app.

It was when I went in to gift my son I noticed she was down as 1Gb but I was unable to gift her as the app thought she was unlimited so I was concerned of I wouldn't be able to top up her 1Gb at all.

It's showing her as 1Gb now which or what it should be

Thanks for clarifying, @hawkerpaul.

That makes sense.
