EE 5G to 4G switching issue | No data until airplane mode reset

Has anyone else been having issues with EE when moving between areas on 5G and 4G? I've noticed that when my iPhone 17 PM switches from 5G to 4G while travelling to different places, the connection just stops working completely. It's been happening everywhere lately. The only fix I've found is turning airplane mode on and off, which then makes 4G work again. Has anyone else experienced this or found a proper fix?

It's extremely annoying as I use Waze and Spotify a lot while I'm driving, and they just randomly stop working when the phone switches from 5G to 4G.

Any suggestions would be great.

Hi @HenryArth.

Thanks for coming to the community.

Sorry to hear you're having issues with your data connection when switching between 5G and 4G.

As you've already reset your network settings, restored iOS and tried both a physical SIM and eSIM, it may be worth checking whether any carrier settings updates are available on your device.

If you're still experiencing the issue after trying this, I'd recommend contacting our technical support team, who'll be able to look into this further.

I’ve also reset my iPhone’s network settings, restored iOS and tried a eSIM instead of a physical SIM but the problem persists.
