Data not working in USA

  Hi I have an account with 3 handsets… all are set to roam  abroad, all are set with additional roaming further add ons. All worked ok during last visit to USA in august. But now arrived yesterday and 2 of the 3 handsets will not connect to data. Have manually searched for networks… I can select a network, it shows 4G but I cannot access internet, WhatsApp etc… I have rebooted them many times…  the only difference is these 2 handsets are now out off contract since last visit, but when I text rise to 150 they all say, set up and ready to go… iPhone 11s any help please… thank you

Can you make calls & texts?

Did you activate roaming on your EE a/c before you left UK by texting ROAMING to 150? Having a roaming add-on doesn't of itself activate roaming on your a/c.

Often just rebooting the phone is the simple remedy. Also try selecting a network manually rather than auto.

Hi thank you… I have tried all of these.  Yes all activated and have checked again via 150. . Can make calls and text ok. Network says 4G but I cannot access any data eg websites, maps, WhatsApp etc… rebooted many times and trued manual selection but still dies not work.., any help out there please?

Does the same happen if you select the other available networks showing? 

Do you get an error message when you try and use apps and Safari?

Hi there, yes the same on all networks selected… no error message, just cannot connect to WhatsApp and if trying safari just keeps trying but never connects…

if I connect to my daughters personal hotspot it works… so something is wrong with the set up up the two phones not working… EE have ignored me. I have  tried calling but are forced down a route where they send you a text message to say everything is set up and roaming is on. I will be asking for a refund of the 3 roam further add ins when back in uk next week as a total waste of time and money. 🫣

The reason I asked what this site does - http://neverssl.com - is because it does what it says, it doesn't redirect to SSL. It should either not work which is likely to mean data roaming isn't enabled on your phone, or redirect to the EE add on page, likely to mean an EE add-on issue and removing and re-adding often fixes that.
