Data Gifting not working

I have been trying to gift data all morning but I cannot seem to do it.

I get a warning "Sorry, we can't show this device's data right now. Please try again later."

There is no indication  of how long this will take, or what the problem is.

Hi Katie,

I think this is possibly a system-wide issue.  I cannot gift data either.  I`ve tried via the app and on the website.  I`m tech savvy and know what I`m doing.  I also have plenty of data to gift from 3 mobile phone number accounts in the same group `family` plan registered to my account. 

If only your tech guys could just stop tinkering with everything it would be fine.  When it works, it works wonderfully.  Why they need to constantly update the app and break everything again is always a concern.  Just leave it alone and give your tech team a year off!

We don`t all have the luxury of staying on hold, on 150, for hours on end.

I have had various error messages over the last 3 days.  The error message I`m receiving today is "You`re not able to gift data.  There`s no-one in your plan eligible for gifted data". 

Yesterday, I was receiving the message  "We will have it fixed soon
Sorry, we can't show this device's data right now. Please try again later."

Have you been able to gift data to the other numbers on the account previously? 

If so, have you made any changes to any of the plans?

It’s remarkable that this issue has been going on for so long and the same questions keep getting asked. It’s an issue on the website and app. It works for some and not for others. It can’t be difficult to work out if EE has a testing team which it sounds like they don’t. Absolutely terrible bit of software.

This is happening to me now and I have had this issue from yesterday morning and have been trying to gift data to my daughter's mobile phone several times over the past 26 hours.

I gift data to both my children's phones each month and this is the first time this has happened and it doesn't look like this is being fixed by EE as this function should be working by now.

Can anyone provide an update or the actual solution instead of just suggesting calling 150 and being on the phone for ages?!

Mine magically started working in the app recently.  There was no app update and I didn’t do anything other than the option reappeared to be able to gift data with no error message.  It doesn’t seem to be a software issue but something possibly wrong with the account.  I didn’t have any positive help from tech support but did have to send them a ‘chat’ message asking them, each month for 4 months,  in detail to complete the gifting for me so I didn’t have to wait for them to answer the phone.    It really can be a nuisance and I nearly left my contract due to it being unusable for our family usage.  Sorry I can’t give you any details for a resolution.

What's the exact error message you're seeing when trying to do this, and are you able to gift successfully to other numbers?

Also is it just the EE App affected here, or is it the browser version of your account too?

I  am having the same problem as all the other people who have posted in this thread.  I am trying to gift data within the amount of data I have available  but have been getting the same message as everybody else who has posted here,    "Sorry, we can't show this device's data right now. Please try again later."      Yes, I have gifted data before, every month for a long time.   Judging by the previous responses I am not expecting any solutions or answers as to what the problem is from the Community Support Team .    Just came here hoping to find a solution and thought I may as well post something since I signed up
