Apps like Youtube and Google Maps not working unless I am on VPN or on WIFI

Someone please help. 

I spoke to an EE guide via the phone but they were not able to help me. 

For the past 3 days, when I am on my mobile network (5g), apps such as Youtube and Google Maps are not working. However, If I switch on VPN, they seem to start working. 

And they also work if I am connected to wifi! 

I reset the network settings, reset phone, deleted apps and reinstalled, removed VPN completely etc and nothing. 

Any ideas? Shall I just go to Apple? I think its becoming apparent that its a phone issue as I checked all the settings and everything is as they should be!

spoken to ee there none the wiser 

vpn makes it work and anairplain mode on and off

Hey! 

Ask to be connected to level 2 tech team. Dont spend days like me where you have to repeat so many bloody tests, each time you speak to a different person. 
Had to go through that until i actually managed to be raised to the Level 2 tech team. 
Had to explain everything to them, do tests on my device, go to EE store to try different sims in the phone etc and try my sim in a different device. 

Only just now they sent off a ticket to their network team to investigate my line and hopefully figure out what is going on. 
until that comes back, i have to wait. 
I have been unable to use pretty much any apps on my phone when out and about, had to find WiFi everywhere. It’s really bad. 
In the mean time you just have to make do. 
it will be interesting to see if they find a solution and if not, I do wonder what’s next. 

you have to keep pushing them to escalate this. Some of them are quick to dismiss it.

Do u find it will come back on its own I can predict locations when its going to play up I’ve sent videos in but got told to ring 150 over and over and over no offence to the people I think it beads more than some one on level one I will ring up again tomorrow and say about this blog post hay think I’m going mad I work of van so I can’t even play you tube music 😡😡

Mine has been like this since around 10th of October! 

I will for sure ask to be compensated as I’m not getting anything I’m paying for. 

with me, location doesn’t even seem to matter. No matter where I am, it’s the same everywhere. 

Hopefully, the most recent person I have spoke to in the Level 2 team, seems to be committed enough to deliver a good service and help me get this resolved.  Now have to wait until the weekend at the earliest to see what comes back on the ticket he raised for me after collecting all the information and tests etc

asked that refused to pass it to level 2 told me to go speak to Amazon YouTube Netflix and google because it’s not there fault lol I gave up I was going to loose my rag this has been going on for nearly 8 months

absolutely not. That’s breaking the contract as well. 

I have also spent an hour talking to YouTube and an hour and a half with google. The problem is EE. Not the apps. 

I can’t believe it’s been 8 months for you. That’s crazy. 

and yes… that’s EXACTLY as what’s happening on my sim!!!! So frustrating !!!!!

Thay have sent new sim 

changed contracts and locked me in to 24 months saying it would sort it 

i whish that put as much effort in to resolving matters as thay do in closing complaints down unresolved i end the call with no answer and thay close the complaint i know where there mobile call center is so might just go there   

The thing is, the problem is with the line, not the sim. I installed my number as eSim too and no resolutions. 
you are right, they are so quick at closing complaints. 

I will keep you in the loop once I hear back from them probably on the weekend. 

i refuse to pay anything to them until it’s resolved. Technically, they are breaking the contract they also signed from their end.

Where you on the one dime ie linked to your internet account 

is your speed limiter my one is 100 meg mad thing is I got forced on to the one plan rant up 10 bays after saying I was getting issues could not move back to old plan 105 gig no restrictions on speed did have 2.7 gig in Cardiff now got grandmother 100 speed for more MORE mony 5 sims I got on my account had so many issues with ee
