5G Standalone Greyed Out?

Guitarfreak-26

Hi All,

I bought a new All Rounder Sim Only on Wednesday, instantly downloaded my ESim to the 17 Pro Max I have and I have now ported my number over. However, 5G standalone is still greyed out. It shows as an add on on my plan and i also spoke to live chat via the app, they just recommended I reset network settings but it didnt make any difference.

I havent noticed any carrier updates yet, I was on 3 before. Is there anyway to get this working?

I agree that central-Birmingham should not be an issue for 5GSA!

Think you need to contact EE-CS to ensure your account is correctly provisioned.

Is this in all locations or just specific areas? I'm "only" a 4G customer, but my understanding is this would only normally happen if your SIM is not SA-compatible - which shouldn't be the case, based on being a recently-issued SIM.

So it may be useful to rule out your local serving sites not being SA-enabled. You should still be able to select the option, but it's a variable to eliminate.

Thanks, I havent been to London or anything yet but im right in Birmingham Central which should also have it.

I was wondering if its some issue as initially I installed my ESim whilst still having the 3 Sim in whilst waiting for my number port.

I did get an SMS this morning from 150 that said all services are now active, I rebooted the iPhone but its still greyed out 😞
