So, I just moved into a new house and we don’t have any wifi so it’s been a big struggle with managing data, etc. This morning at 12:30am, my data ran out so I bought a brand new pack which redeemed and gave me my usually 43.5GB (see photos attached). I then fell asleep and woke up to see that all my data somehow got used up between 12:30 and 4am. I checked and I had no apps open on my phone, automatic downloads etc are turned off (I even checked to see if they had been and they hadn’t) too! So I just don’t know what to do, I don’t have much money at the moment so really don’t wanna buy a new pack but I just don’t know how so much data was used so quickly?!

Morning @tiarodgers
Thanks for coming back to the community.
Which device are you using? Do you have any other device connected using your data?
Speak to you soon.

iPhone 14 & nope!
Was on the phone with EE all morning and they basically just told me that I was using YouTube all night and 10GB an hour! Even they told me that was insane because I checked my screentime and I was NOT even on YouTube/had it open or anything! And they think 10 GB of data is excessive too! They just told me to buy a better pack or just top up again despite doing it last night so I’m gonna head to the store because it all seems unfair considering my data wasn’t even turned on.

Hi @tiarodgers
Thanks for coming back to me.
Please let me know how you get on after visiting the store.
The Use Low Data Mode on your iPhone and iPad – Apple Support (UK) has some steps you can try to reduce data usage.

They said there was nothing that they could do!
Thank you for the tips - however in this case, my data was turned off on my phone so the fact it was used is confusing.
Ended up having to pay £10 for an extra pack so now I’m £20 down instead of £10. 😕 So frustrated! Just moved house so this was the last thing my bank needed.

Hi @tiarodgers
I am very sorry this has happened when you have just moved house.
Just to check, did you go into Settings > Mobile Services and turn the Mobile Data to off?
If you would like to open a complaint for this to be looked into further, please see the Make a Complaint page.
