@Happy2nurse : You can just apply for unlocking by using the Unlocking your device form and giving its IMEI no.

this still is not resolved, it says there is a issue with ee I have done it several time and different phones nothing feel very disappoint I can't resolve this and its not a simple as it should be.

There are 3 Steps you need to check and possibly act on here to move forward with this, I will try and explain and guide you through them.

Step 1, is to check whether the Router is Unlocked or not, as until recently All EE MiFi Units would have been Locked to the EE Network. So, put in a non EE Sim Card ie, your Smarty Sim (Smarty use the Three Network) then using your Phone, Tablet, Laptop etc, log into the EE 4G MiFi as per normal then log into Admin Settings Page, the Login info and Password information will be on the MiFi Box, the Label on the Router or the Keep my Card,  if this information is not available, then use this Web Link 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.8,1 this should bring you to the Routers Admin Sign In Page, use the Info that came with the Router or again if not available try User = admin and Password is also admin. Once logged into the Admin Area, if the Router is Unlocked then you will be able to continue onwards, if the Router is Locked to EE, it will probably ask for an Unlock Digit Code and will not let you proceed any further.

If its unlocked then proceed to Step 2, if its Network Locked then proceed to get your Unlock Code. Depending on the Router Model Number and how old its is, if for any reason EE cannot help you to unlock it and the Router is an Alcatel Model you can buy Unlock Codes from the likes of eBay for around a quid.

Step 2, So your Device is now Unlocked, so again go to Admin Settings Page, login and go to either Profile and or APN Settings, once there creat a new Profile or APN and use the following Settings. -

APN Profile Name = 3 or use Smarty, doesn't really matter

APN = mob.asm.net

User = leave this empty

Password = leave this empty.

Now Save this Profile or APN, set this as the Default Profile (normally a Tick Box) and Restart the Router.

Assuming that all of the above criteria are correct and your in a good 4G Coverage Area the Router should now be working on Threes Network.

If your still not getting a Network Signal or are only getting a low speed 3G signal then there is a Step 3, but it's a bit techy and involves UK Network Bands so let's leave that for the time being.

Hi @Happy2nurse

Are you able to try another SIM in the device?

Katie 🙂

tried 3 different ones, it really should be easier than this

The *99# Dial Up Number should be good, or you could try *99***1# although its a bit worrying its asking for this info, how old is this Device and Model Number?

How far down the Step List did you get to?
