I was wondering if it would be possible to pay for the Smart 5G Hub yearly instead of monthly.

Welcome to the community,
This is not customer service, but I doubt that would be possible, as contracts are always paid monthly and not yearly, but if you ring customer service they will let you know, although I am sure that I am right.

You not only paying for the router but also for the monthly airtime.
