Hi there,
So I just moved into a house with a kind of slow internet connection, I am therefore looking into a solution based on mobile broadband. My question is would one get a lower latency on one's connection when using a 4G modem, like for instance the "TP-LINK Archer MR600 WiFi 4G+ Router" or one of the EE 4G modems with a cabled connection to the computer compared to USB tethering your phone to the computer.
Provided it is the same network and the same location of course.
And I am specifically asking about latency NOT transfer speed.

Hi @internetter123.
Have you got a good 4/5G connection in your local area?
The mobile data connection will depend on the service you get in your area.

Yes, I have got decent 4G connection.
My question is if I get a 4G modem and hook it up to my computer will I get a lower latency, than if I hook my mobile phone up to my computer using USB tethering? Same provider, same location.

Thanks @internetter123.
Using a hotspot on your phone would provide a similar service to using a 4G router.
With it being a USB fixed connection it may be a slightly more stable, but this would depend on the connection in the area too.
