I use a 4G EE router and sim card for my internet connection.....BT land line offered less than 0.5Mb at best.
I now have reliable download speed via router, but speed tests show 0.25-0.30 Mb upload at best.
It's always been like that from day one.
Download speed has deteriorated over time to about 10Mbs....but I expected that and it is just about sufficient for my needs.
Please don't waste my time by saying 'move the router'....I have tried every sensible place of putting it........and at a cost of £250.00 has a semi-professional '4G signal booster' placed on a 5m pole fixed to the side of the house...so at a guess the box is more than 15mtrs off the ground.
And yes.....we do live in an area where historically wifi signals are poor.....but even BT managed an upload speed faster tha EE.
Solved! See the answer below or view the solution in context.

@Vutti47 I hope the signal booster your are using is legal as most are not. as your not allowed to boost the cellular signals, you might want to read THIS
you are allowed to use an aerial to capture the signal to redirect it in to your home.

@Vutti47 , have you clicked on check coverage and network status at the top of this page to see if there is a problem where you are? You can also receive updates.
Do you know anyone in your area that is with EE and if they are having similar problems?

If customers actually received the signal strengths and downloads they were promised when they signed up, then amplifiers/boosters/or re directional equipment wouldn’t be necessary. Legal or otherwise!
For your information the equipment installed is quite legal. Thank you for inquiring

Signal Booster Installations for an modern day up to spec 4G / LTE Router are a complete waste of time, they could potentially make your Internet speeds a lot slower.
4G LTE Routers rely heavily on Multi Band Carrier Agregation and Multi Path MiMo in order to achieve a decent DL and UL Speeds from the Network, something a Mobile Router working through a, Signal Booster cannot achieve, irrespective of what the Sales Pitch quoted.
You would have been better off spending your money on having an Full Band and MiMo LTE Antenna Installed directly to the Router in order to improve the available Signel Strength and let the Router do its job.

@Vutti47 Who promised you what signal strength? Who made that promise to you ? If that was via customer services you do know that they work from the same information that you can find HERE and you might want to then read the legal bit at the bottom. ( go read that now )
It sounds like you live in a black spot and thats why you have a 15m aerial. Looks like the legal bit I’m hoping you just read now covers that.
